June 14, 2003

Yes -- it has been 5 years since George and I were married. Exactly 5 years ago we were wrapping up our reception at the Waterway Marriot in The Woodlands... where has the time gone? I have to say - a lot has happened to us in 5 short years. We've lived in two states, one apartment, three houses, had five jobs between the two of us, had three kids and have survived it all.

I love being married to George. He truly is my best friend and we have so much fun together. Now, having THREE kids under the age of 2 can really tire us out (and it does) but it's our life and I wouldn't change it for a second.

Although this year is a bigger milestone than the last few anniversaries (seriously, doesn't 5 years sound cooler than 3 or 4?) we unfortunately can't celebrate on the actual day. A move to College Station and no "home base" in Dallas can do that. It's not the day that makes the anniversary special -- it's the 364 other days of the year that make this one day worthy of taking notice.

George, I love you and am so thankful for you! I have really enjoyed these last 5 years and look forward to the next five... hopefully those don't include moving or more kids. HA :) I love our marriage and our ability to communicate and laugh with each other. Life is just more fun with you!
