Fall Festival

Sunday afternoon was the Fall Festival at church. We took the kids in their costumes: Brooke the cheerleader, Hallie the Bee and Hudson as Buzz Lightyear.
It was VERY crowded so we didn't do a lot of the activities. The kids enjoyed the petting zoo and playing a few games to earn some candy (mom & dad's favorite part!). We saw some of our friends up there and a ton of college students who were volunteering (YAY for you!). The weather was awesome for the outdoor event so we were really glad about that!

Our family

Hallie REALLY enjoyed the cotton candy.
Brooke did too...this was their first time having it.

Hudson was amused by the goats

This cracked me up... Hudson wanted candy SOOO bad so I told him he had to wait his turn. Look at his cute little hands behind his back... patiently waiting!! :)

Family Pictures

This past Saturday a good friend of ours (http://www.canoncreekphotography.com/) took some pictures of us. She's just getting started so we happily volunteered. I told her that if she could get a good picture of a family of 5 then she'd be well on her way!! Here are a few off of her blog that she posted for a sneak peek. I can't wait to see the rest! Thanks Maleigh!!

Snowy Colorado

The View!!! That's Pike's Peak

Brooke LOVED sledding!

First morning we were there... waking up to inches of snow!

Colorado!!

Okay - so the annoying world of blogspot has prevented me from posting all my pictures of Colorado. So, here's a sneak preview that it is coming... Once I can figure out why it won't let me upload more than one picture at a time....

We had a GREAT time at my parents cabin and it snowed for three days. That kinda foiled our plans a little bit, but we had a good time anyway. We spent some time in Denver visiting our great friends, Brandon & Melody and their little girls, Coral and Reese. Our kids had a great time with them and we had so much fun too!

Friday we were able to get out of the cabin for a sunny day and take our kids to The North Pole - which is an amusment park decorated like Christmas. It's a family tradition on my side to go there as kids. We had a great time watching all three of ours have a fun time with all the rides. Hopefully I can post pictures of that soon!

SCHOOL!!

We have the kids in Preschool & Mothers Day Out this Fall. I'm really excited about it and we feel really blessed to be able to do this. The first day was Wednesday. All the kids did pretty well. Hudson & Hallie even took naps on their new nap mats. I was super impressed about that since the two times I tried it at home were unsuccessful! Hudson & Hallie cried as we dropped them off (but that's not unusual for Hudson!). You'd think he's never been left at the church nursery! Ha ha! Brooke did great and I think she had a good time too! She didn't give me ANY info as to what she did that day!! Oh well, maybe one day she'll tell me all about it.
Here are a few shots before we left for the day.

George waters the plants at night and the kids like to be sprayed with the water hose. Here Hallie is hanging out on the porch after being drenched!

Hudson & Hallie soaking wet!
He looks so grown up in this picture. He wanted his turn at the hose.
TWINS!! All bundled up after taking their wet clothes off.

Wall Art Part 2

It seems as though just a year ago (maybe exactly!!) our sweet little Brooke thought our house needed some new wall art and she colored all over her closet door & her table and chairs. She even added a nice little addition to her sheets. Some would say she was unsupervised... I would say I must have been busy with baby 2 & 3!!

Hudson & Hallie have been caught in the act a few times coloring on tables and in the kitchen on the beadboard - but I've always been able to stop them quickly and clean up! This time, Hudson outsmarted me. I could have sworn I heard the sound of a crayon being used up and down the wall, but when I checked the area he was in, I couldn't find anything. I took the crayon away and thought disaster had been averted! Much to my surprise later in the day I came around the corner down the hall and what do I see? RED crayon all over the wall. I missed it the first time...

So, as we did with Brooke I made him help me clean it up. I don't think he thought this was punishment (he really found it amusing to be scrubbing the wall with a towel). I'm sure my photo taking didn't help either!! And not to be outdone by his big sister, he also found it was even better to color on the chair!! Hopefully Hallie girl doesn't follow in big brother's footsteps!

Hallie - pointing out the "no-no"

Hudson, hard at work, cleaning up!
